When I arrived at Delmar Gardens of Green Valley on 02/04/22, I never felt so alone, lonely, depressed and frightened. I was in my room when Dee came in. She sat and talked to me, explained how it all worked. From that day forward, I knew I had a friend and everything was going to be alright.
I then moved rooms. I was happy when I found out that I was going to have the same people by my side. Everyone was so helpful in letting me know what the process was in my new location. They provided me with the literature on the different activities offered and I was so excited to join in on the fun.
I would appreciate you letting everyone in Unit 2 how great they are and how much I appreciate them, especially, Dee, Debbie and sweet, beautiful Julie.
Thank you all again for your kindness. It is appreciated more than you know.
Julie V.

Dear Michelle,
One of the most difficult things we have had to do was to admit our mom to the care of others because severe dementia circumvented her ability to make her own decisions. From the first day we met with you to tour your facility and the first day you accepted her from us into your facility, you and & your staff made us comfortable we made the right decision and as time passed we became more and more comfortable with that decision.
Our mom benefited and enjoyed 5+ years of great care from a first quality and wonderful professional staff, especially each and every one in Unit 4, be it the medical or personal care she required or the friendly treatment of staff throughout the entire facility. And being former professionals in the management and maintenance of commercial real estate, we compliment you on a terrific job you and your staff do in maintaining your facility.
The staff was always eager to say hello and kid with mom. She especially enjoyed the weekend entertainment, in particular when entertainers say two of her favorities, Bad Bad Leroy Brown or You Are My Sunshine.
Thanks to you and your staff for taking good care of our mom and please give a special thanks to Division 4.
With best regards,
John & MaryAnn L.

Dear Administrator:
I am compelled to write this memo after a rather extended stay at your facility. My dates of stay were from June 16th to July 20th.
My experiences with yours staff were very positive and I found them to be efficient, friendly, yet professional. The reason for this memo is to highlight two exceptional employees whom I had much contact with during my stay. I request that a copy of this letter be placed in their employee file.
First is assistant Laura Molina who never failed to have a welcom smile and a request to do anything for me. I had occasion to witness this same attitude toward other patients as well. Employees like this rare, especially in a routine environment where the best employees put on their best behavior on a consistent basis. Kudos to Laura for being for being the sunshine of my many days at Delmar.
Second but not the lessor is nurse Nancy Coppola who as an employee summed up every single characteristic of an ideal employee. She exhibited a pleasant and helpful attitude, she is dependable, she is professional, she is more than kind and thoughtful. If only all employees had these true patient friendly directions all businesses would better off by hundreds of percentage points.
Sincerely,
David M.

Dear donors of the Delmar Gardens – Love, Care and Understanding scholarship,
Hi there, this is Kayla, the recipient of last year’s award! I am writing to you to thank you once again for the gracious scholarship and to tell you how much it helped me in my first year of college!
My freshman year was filled with learning, new experiences, and challenging myself to become the best student and person I could be. I worked very hard in pre-nursing classes and earned a 4.0 GPA second semester. My next step will be to apply to nursing school this year with a multi-step process of grade checks, tests, and interviews. I am excited to see what the future holds! This past year I also got involved in campus life and joined my school’s pre-nursing club which held meetings to help advise me through my classes and prepare me for upper division nursing courses! I am now even more excited about my future career. Once again, thank you for all that you helped me to accomplish! I am forever grateful!
-Kayla C.

Dear Delmar Gardens Staff,
It is never an easy decision to place a loved one in a long-term facility. The family question if it is the right decision for the person as well as the family. You ask yourself will they be taken care of? Will they be treated with dignity and respect? Will they be fed and kept clean? Will some talk to them? We were forced to make that tough decision approximately 5 years ago with my husband, Charles.
I vividly remember the first time I walked through the doors and greeted by Barbara with a kind smile and friendly hello. The entire facility was clean and well maintained. The staff that gave me a tour were patient, kind and answered all of my questions. After meeting and engaging with Alice in the memory care unit, there was little doubt Charlie would be welcomed and treated the way we all want to be treated.
No words can express our gratitude to everyone who took care of Charlie during his time at Delmar Gardens. We would never want any of you to think what you do goes unnoticed or unappreciated. Please know without a doubt we are so very greatful Charlie had such a loving home his last years.
Warmest regards,
Cindy, Dezzaray, Jonathan
The Family of Charles
