Garden Villas Of Lenexa

My husband and I became residents of Garden Villas of Lenexa in June 2019.  We had both been hospitalized from our home of 30+ years in Overland Park and never returned.

The enormous task of our transition was left to our sons and their wives, they have become our heroes.  Another chapter…another venue.   Change is difficult, and a process.  We are now at home in our lovely apartment, grateful and loving every moment.  The staff here is truly professional, caring, loving, and in our opinion, without peer.

We are so grateful! I personally believe one of the greatest amenities of the Gardens is the personal access of each unit to its own patio or balcony. We have maybe the best view of all from our floor to ceiling windows in our balcony door with the most amazing canvas of an ever-changing sky. God is in his heavens, all’s right with the world.

Dear Mr. Grossberg,

After a lengthy search for the right home for my parents, they moved from their home of 50 years to Garden Villas of Lenexa last April. I am writing to let you know what a great decision that was!

My parent’s needs were extremely different, and finding a facility that could offer my dad stimulation and friendship, and my mother increasing levels of care was challenging. From my first conversation with Jennifer, I was impressed with the professionalism, welcoming atmosphere, and cheerful environment I’ve come to associate with Garden Villas.

During the past eleven months, I have stayed in one of the guest apartments several nights every few weeks. This proximity to my parents has allowed me not only a better understanding of their adjustment and needs, but also an extended opportunity to assess the Garden Villas operation. Following Jennifer’s leadership, the entire staff…from the front desk to the food services and dining room crew, to the activities and maintenance personnel…is respectful of the residents, committed to excellence, and able to handle the crises…both large and small…that occur in any residential program.

As an out-of-town family member, I appreciate and depend on the staff’s assessment and communication about my parents and their support for my family’s efforts and preferences. This was particularly true ten days ago when my mother died peacefully in my parent’ apartment. By that point, we were providing services through three different organizations and I heard from more than one care-provider how impressed they were with the Garden Villas organization.  I found a great deal of comfort from the daily conversations, offers of support, and heartfelt expressions of sympathy from staff and residents alike.

Ultimately, I was able to return to my home knowing my father will be happy, safe, and well-cared for at Garden Villas. Your staff there does a truly remarkable job, and  I am thankful for the peace-of-mind their knowledge, skills, and compassion give me.

Dear Gabe,

I am writing to tell you I am a resident here at Garden Villas of Lenexa.   My husband and I moved here in July of 2013.  My husband of 63 plus years passed away in December of 2015.  I feel so blessed to have been living here at Garden Villas.  The staff in all departments provide such care for our needs.

My husband was able to live in independent living with me and attend the many activities until he has a small stroke one month before he passed away.

I just wanted to say thank you for all that is available here; and most of all the loving staff.  Danielle, Megan and the office staff provide much love and support to me and my family.

I thank God each day for our move to Garden Villas of Lenexa.   Thank you so much for everything.

To Danielle and the Garden Villas Staff-

We just wanted to thank you for all the kindnesses shown to our Dad, David, over the past 5 ½ years.

He was so happy at Garden Villas and enjoyed all the activities. From the painting classes, to singing in the choir, to Fred Hartman Travelogues, to entertainment like Bo & the Band, he enjoyed it all.

He enjoyed getting to know the other residents and playing pool and eating ice cream in the afternoons and going to Sunday night movies. Georgia and Don were particularly attentive and loving friends. We are glad he got to be the Valentine’s Day King a couple of years ago.

Thank you all so much for your love and support. He couldn’t have picked a better place and we will forever be grateful. David is smiling at all of us from Heaven.

Thanks to you all…I APPRECIATE YOU!  What a lovely and elegant dinner served on a beautiful new gray tray.  I “zapped” the tacos in the microwave, topped it with the garden salad, salsa, sour cream and cheese, and drizzled Olive Garden’s “Red Wine” Balsamic dressing all over it and chowed down!

What more can anyone ask for on a gorgeous sun-shining evening here at Garden Villas!  Just think how many ladies that would love to be treated like this.  Shame on me if I ever complain, especially in this time our whole world has never known…wondering what tomorrow’s going to bring.  So many are trembling in their boots!

Here we have the kindest, sweetest helpers who all go out of their way to please everyone.  And just think, this floor was served by the Director/Administrator, beautiful, Anne Bartels, who really didn’t have to do that.  How blessed we are!

I just want to say a great big thank you to all who work here at Garden Villas that make this place such a lovely, clean, friendly, beautiful and safe place to live with great food!

I lived here for four years and have enjoyed every minute of it.  You must search and search to find hard workers, who are kind, thoughtful and helpful who all have worked so hard to keep that ugly virus out of this whole building.

You all deserve a Gold Medal.  I am so grateful.

Dear Mr. Grossberg,

This is Thanksgiving time and I feel so thankful for so many blessings in my life. We are so aware of his because we are here at Garden Villas. We have lived her 9 years so it is important to let you know what a beautiful Thanksgiving you provided for us all. First of all our director Jennifer makes it all happen. She is so important in our lives and we can go to her for any problem we may have. Thank you for all you and your staff do for us all year.

We take this time to thank you for all you do at Christmas time and that starts December 1. We had such a wonderful delicious meal last Sunday and again today. Thank you. Jennifer and her staff are fantastic and again we feel truly blessed, thank you from our hearts. We wish you, your family and your staff a beautiful holiday and best wishes always.
