Delmar Gardens of Smyrna has an excellent opportunity for a dynamic Assistant Director of Dining Services/Sous Chef. The successful candidate will have a leadership role in the kitchen, preparing and cooking food, assisting in training and overseeing cooks, and responsible for assisting the Dining Services Director as needed or in their absence. CDM certification preferred; ServSafe required. Must be familiar with state and federal regulations. Must be able to work every other weekend.

Job Duties:

  • Develops well-balanced meals in collaboration with Director of Dining Services and the chef.
  • Assists in maintaining food costs and ensuring budgetary compliance.
  • Assists in the purchasing of food and non-food items.
  • Ensures all food and beverage is stored, handled and prepared under safe, sanitary conditions as set forth by the company and local, state and county health departments.
  • Trains and supervises employees in accordance with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
